New York - David Ferrer clinched the U.S. Open semifinals in 2012 after a fierce duel contra Janko Tipsarevic. Ferrer won 6-3, 6-7 (5), 2-6, 6-3, and 7-6 (4).
In the first set at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Thursday (07/09/2012) pm dawn, the eighth-seeded Tipsarevic directly managed to break serve and maximize games for a 2-0 lead. Ferrer then got up and equalized finished 2-2 after a break at the gym four.
Bak gain momentum, which is the fourth seed Ferrer then successfully back ahead 4-2. He also closed the set with a 6-3.
In the second set, Tipsarevic and Ferrer both games continue to successfully maximize the service. With the position 6-6, this set also must be resolved through the tie break which eventually won Tipsarevic.
Playing running back tight in the beginning of the third set. It was only in the fifth games Tipsarevic managed to break for a 3-2 lead. Had to do one more break to lead 5-2, Tipsarevic then closed the set with a 6-2 victory.

Fifth set to a climax in the end game. Thanks to a one-time break, Tipsarevic had the lead up to 3-0. However, Ferrer slowly rose and can be equalized 4-4 after making a break at the gym before.
The match then had to enter the tie break after both players balanced 6-6. Here Ferrer finally able to close the game running for a total of 4 hours 31 minutes.
With these results Ferrer qualify for the last four. In the semifinals he will face Novak Djokovic or Juan Martin del Potro.
