Steve Jobs is the best-selling biography books in the U.S.
In its first week on sale, Walter Isaacson's biography Jobs of Apple co-founder Steve sold 379,000 copies in the U.S., making it by far the best selling book in the country.
The book, titled simply "Steve Jobs", also achieved the highest sales week for a book in the U.S. for almost a year.
This is according to data from Nielsen BookScan service, as reported by TheBookseller
Published by Simon & Schuster on October 24, the book outsold the best-selling book next week, by John Grisham "litigants", for more than three to one. After only six days of sales, Jobs's biography already sold the 18-book of the year, according to BookScan figures.
Simon & Schuster decision to raise the book's publication for one month after the death of October 5 Jobs seems to have paid off. Fueled by an intense interest in the life of the late visionary technology and career, the biography came to a wave of publicity, including appearances by Isaacson on CBS "60 Minutes" and CNN's "Piers Morgan tonight."
The book of 656 pages Jobs traces 55 years of life from a young hippie and co-founder of Apple in his parents' garage in Silicon Valley's expulsion from the company's triumphant return 11 years later and notable successes in last decade with the iPod, iPhone and iPad.
The book has already produced a lot of headlines, including the number of jobs waiting too long lamented after his cancer diagnosis to get a surgery that could have saved him.
Its price is $ 35, although many sellers are the prices closer to $ 20.
